About Us

Interpreters-on-Call aims to make it easy for language agencies to create and launch telephone interpreting services to clients all over the world. We are committed to:

  • Providing language agencies with an international database of high quality interpreters that they can work with
  • Providing interpreters with a single place to register their profiles and be connected to multiple agencies
  • Creating innovative solutions for clients, and maintaining a technology platform that enables round-the-clock, world-wide telephone interpreting. 

The Interpreters-on-Call portal aims to create:

  • A vibrant on-line community of language agencies whose service offerings evolve to provide greater value through innovation
  • The ability for language agencies to develop high-quality, innovative and bespoke services that attract a premium price

The members of the Interpreters-on-Call team have worked together on numerous projects over the last 20 years. In 2008 they came together to develop a product that would enable service providers and interpreters to provide automated, round-the-clock telephone interpreting services.

A prototype of the solution was trialled in early 2009, followed by extensive interviews with service providers and interpreters. The current version incorporates all the vital feedback received during that consultative process.
